Close your eyes for a moment. Take a few slow
deep breaths and center yourself. Allow your Higher Self and
guides to use this communication to assist you. Feel their loving,
joy-filled, healing energy being poured into you and your world
in this moment. Find something you are grateful for. From that
space, read these words and allow them to bless both you and
your life.
GETTING RID OF "SHOULD I?"
I had a conversation with one of my friends/clients
recently and she described a discrepancy she experienced while
dowsing. When she asked, "Should I . . ." she was
getting one answer. When she asked, "Is it in my highest
and best interest to . . ." she was getting the opposite
answer. My instant understanding was that when you ask "Should
I" you are giving your power over to something outside
of yourself. When you say, "Is it in my highest and best
interest to do something" it is much more of a collaboration.
You are asking for input, but you are not asking to be a puppet
being told what to do. Subtle but powerful. Drop the "shoulds"
in your questions.
WHO WOULD YOU SPEND A DAY WITH?
I was flipping through the Parade Magazine in
this week's paper and saw the most intriguing article. It said
if you could go back in time and spend a day with anyone, who
would it be and why? Wow, the people and questions I'd have
started popping like popcorn in my head.
Here are just a few. Feel free to visit the
blog and add your own. I
think this is grand food for thought.
The first and most obvious for me would be Jesus.
Here are just a few of the questions I would ask him: "People
have said many things and I've had my own theories or insights
about your life. So, tell me the real story. Were you actually
nailed to a cross or is the entire thing a myth? What really
happened? If you were actually tortured, did you feel any pain
or were you able to "trance state" beyond all that?
Were you married to Mary? Did you have children? Did you actually
have 12 female and 12 male disciples? What were the exact thoughts
and actions and energies you were working with to allow for
the miracles? How can I do that? Was Judas a traitor or was
it always part of the greater plan? Did things go exactly as
they were supposed to, or did something go awry? Since I don't
believe in human sacrifice, I have a hard time believing a loving
God would "sacrifice his only begotten sun." (interesting
spelling) And I believe we are all sons and daughters of God,
so why do they say you were the only one. They say you "died
for our sins." I believe "sin" is wrongful thought.
Why would someone have to die for that? This makes no sense
to me. Some say you and your family fled to France. War and
death and torture have become the passion cry of the religion
created in your name. What would you say to those people? They
say you are the teacher of righteousness - right use of energy.
What does that have to do with hellfire and brimstone? How are
you different and how are you the same as every other human
walking on the planet? And on and on and on . . .
Next I would like to have a conversation with
Nicolas Tesla. I don't know that much about him, but I find
him intriguing. "What really went down between you and
Edison? Why did he fund you for a long time and then pull the
plug? What would you say is the most significant and beneficial
of your discoveries about energy and other things? How would
you continue your work?"
I would love to talk to Original Source Creator
about the beginning of the human race. O.K. so Creator is still
with us. But I would love to have a conversation that I could
actually understand. There is so much confusion about mankind
and it's origins. "Here are just a handful of theories
about how we got here. Please give us the real deal. Did all
of life evolve from pond scum and did we naturally evolve from
apes? Are we a laboratory experiment somehow created from the
Pleiadians and Sirians or other star races? Did we come up from
the inner earth as described by the Hopi? Did God make the whole
world in 7 days (and what is a day in God time anyway?). Were
humans developed in 1 God-day into our current state? Or, is
a God-Day such a long expanse of time from our perspective,
that the evolution from pond scum into current day human was
one day? Help us understand this please."

How the Law Has Changed
In Plain English
If you have a non-profit which is under another
sponsoring non-profit and you basically advise the “sponsoring
non-profit” ( i.e., donor advised) how to spend the moneys
including distributions to yourself and other family members
or advisors (“Disqualified Persons”), you can’t
do that anymore. Between now and December 31, you can still
advise as to distributions to unrelated third parties, i.e.
the printing or catering bill, but not to Disqualified persons.
As of January 1, 2007, your foundation can only advise distributions
to other section 501(c) (3) organizations. This may not be acceptable
for your purposes. What to do?
You can establish your own section 501(c)(3)
public charity and run it yourself. Most of you used the “sponsoring
organization” concept because it was easier and cheaper
than establishing your own 501 (c)(3). Now you don’t really
have a choice but to establish your own non-profit. If you don’t
want to deal with the accounting and tax return aspects, we
can recommend inexpensive financial management groups who will
take care of that aspect for you.
In Legal-ese
Congress recently amended the tax laws to severely
restrict the use of “donor advised” non-profits. The
new law defines “donor advised funds” as funds maintained
by an Internal Revenue Code (“IRC”) §501(c)(3)
“sponsoring organization,” as to which the donor or
any person designated by the donor reasonably expects to have
“advisory privileges,” either as to distributions
or investments. Foundations which are operated under the “umbrella”
of another 501(c)(3) would be regarded as “donor advised
funds” for purposes of the new law. The new law provides
that:
- No
distribution may be made from any foundation under the “sponsoring
organization” to any donor-advisor, advisor or other
individual as a grant, loan, compensation, or reimbursement
of expenses. An excise tax of up to 200% is imposed on the
recipient of any such distribution.
- No
disbursements may be made for any expenses related to the
operation of any charitable program, including but not limited
to reimbursement for expenses, travel, payment of invoices,
consulting fees, salaries, grants, scholarships, fund raising
events, printing, postage and telephone costs, - in effect
anything related to the accomplishment of a charitable program.
According to the new law, the “sponsoring
Organization” will not be able to make any distributions
from funds allocated to any foundation to any donor-founder
or any person designated by the donor-founder to have “advisory
privileges” with respect to recommending either the “distribution
or investment of amounts” allocated to the foundation.
This prohibition also applies to: (1) any family
members (broadly defined) of the donor-founder or any person
designated by him or her to have such “advisory privileges”
and (2) any business entity in which the donor-founder, his
or her designee with “advisory privileges” or any
family member of either (or both) together hold a 35% or greater
equity interest (or functional equivalent).
The
“sponsoring organization” may only make grants to
IRC §501(c)(3) organizations, such as public charities,
churches, schools, universities, hospitals, etc. You would
be permitted to continue to make recommendations to your “sponsoring
organization” for disbursements from funds allocated
to your foundation to these types of IRC §501(c)(3) organizations.
Is there any good news?
In a manner of speaking, there are transitional
rules in effect for transaction before December 31, 2006.
As a given, all “sponsoring organizations”
are prohibited from making any distribution, payment, reimbursement,
grant, scholarship, or loan to foundation directors and/or their
families, relatives, persons listed on the foundation account,
or any trusts or businesses of any type in which any of these
persons (or any combination, in the aggregate) own, directly
or indirectly, more than a 35% interest. The above definitions
must be broadly construed. The new rule bars direct and indirect
distributions. There are no exceptions. (For convenience of
reference all persons subject to this prohibition shall be referred
to as “Disqualified Persons.”)
Distributions On or Before December 31, 2006:
From funds allocated to a foundation, the “sponsoring
organization” is permitted to make distributions to carry
out bona fide Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3) purposes,
so long as no Disqualified Person is the direct or indirect
recipient or beneficiary of such distributions.
— For example, the “sponsoring organization”
can make a grant to assist a needy and deserving person so long
as this individual is not within the class of Disqualified Persons,
and as long as the Grant Approval Form has been completed and
approved by the “sponsoring organization”.
— The “sponsoring organization is
permitted to pay an invoice for goods or services to businesses
and individuals who are not Disqualified Persons. For example,
the “sponsoring organization may pay an invoice from a
hotel where a banquet room was rented to hold a fund raising
event. This will not be possible after December 31.

a reduced fee plus “out of pocket expenditures” such
as the corporation filing fees in the state you live in (should
be around $100), the $750 IRS charge for Form 1023 Filing and
any state exemption application fees. We understand how to present
larger and more difficult foundation projects to the IRS, regardless
of whether you will be public or private foundations.

set-up for you we will do so for a reduced fee of $2,000 turnkey.
You will receive more than just an incorporation and exemption
filing service. We will take your information, establish your
corporation and obtain charitable tax status approval quickly
and efficiently. We will help you set up your operation and
learn how to obtain funding as a publicly supported foundation,
so that you can avoid being classified as a private foundation
and subject to stricter operating rules, whenever possible.
In addition, we can assist you in any aspect
of post corporate formation, contracts, and compliance matters.
Furthermore we can assist you with planned giving techniques
for long term funding of your foundation. We can implement charitable
giving techniques such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable
lead trusts, charitable stock bailouts and other estate tax
saving techniques.
